Welcome on the site of the group :

The COS group, under the scientific direction of Slimane Bekki and Philippe Keckhut, is one of the six research groups of the Service d'Aéronomie. In addition, the DCAM group has stong links with the Observing Service : Service d'Observation NDSC-France.

The offices are located partly on the Verrières-le-Buisson site and partly on the Jussieu campus, as part of the University Pierre et Marie Curie - Paris VI*.

The research topics of the group are based on a close link between observations and numerical modelisation.
The various issues essentially concern the climate and dynamical processes of the stratosphere, and the study of stratospheric ozone physico-chemical processus, including the boarder regions (because of the many couplings and exchanges) of the high troposphere and mesosphere.
The acquisition of long term series of atmospheric parameters (temperature, wind, water vapour), ozone and particles (aerosols, cirrus, PSC, NLC) allows to establish original climatologies, to better understand the variability and to estimate, on the basis of these long term evolutions, the anthropic perturbations.
The data sets are obtained in the framework of the international NDSC network and of the IPSL Observing Services, in which the group implication is very strong.
